Field Day Information

 

When:  June 27 and 28 (operating time is 2:00 PM Saturday to 2:00 PM Sunday)

Where:  Cedarcrest Hospital (same site as the last several years)

Why:  ItÕs fun and itÕs a chance to see how well we can do true emergency communication

Who:  Hopefully You! And the rest of the club, plus others who are interested.

 

Questions and Answers:

Q:  What Class are we operating?

A:  We are operating as 2A (two transmitters on emergency power) plus a Get on the Air (GOTA) station for recently licensed hams or hams who have been inactive

 

Q:  What Call Sign are we using?

A:  Actually two call signs:  NA1RL will be used for the two main station while W1OKY will be used for the GOTA station.

 

Q:  How can I contact the Field Day site?

A:  145.45 (NARL Repeater) is the best way to contact the Field Day Site

 

Q:  Can I stay overnight?

A:  Yes – you are encouraged to stay as long as you would like.

 

Q:  Can I just come and socialize and not operate?

A:  Of Course!  We hope you might get bitten by the bug and want to operate, but all are welcome.

 

Q:  What if I donÕt have HF privileges?

A:  We will be operating under the license privileges of NS1T and AB1CR (Both Extras) so your privileges are not important.

 

Q:  Is help needed with setup and take down?

A:  Yes indeed!  We will start setting up at 10:00 AM Saturday and start taking down by 2:00 PM on Sunday.

 

Q:  I understand there is a sign up sheet but I wasnÕt at the meeting.  What should I do?
